Netflix has been developing a film based on author Alice Sebold’s book “Lucky,” which tells the story of her 1981 abduction and assault, but things have a]fallen apart - a lot. One of the producers of the film saw some inconsistencies in the book, and decided to hire a private investigator to check things out. Turns out the man who was jailed for 15 years for the assault was apprehension some pretty sketchy evidence. Flash forward to last week, when a court vacated the conviction of Anthony Broadwater (he had already served his 15 years, and was released in 1999). Now the film version of the book has lost its funding, and actress Victoria Padretti (who plays a crazed stalker on Netflix’s “You” series) has pulled out of the starring role.
