A National Search and Rescue Centre has been launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. According to national news agency WAM, it will be the first of its kind in the country, and will report to the Supreme National Security Council. The body will be in charge of all search and rescue operations in the state. It will apply the highest standards of the International Civil Aviation Authority and the International Maritime Organisation. The launch of the centre was made by His Highness at the Dubai Airshow.
