UAE President stresses need for dialogue at G20 Summit

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has stressed the need to address the "complex challenges" the world faces today through "dialogue and cooperation".

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the UAE leader said he was "honoured" to participate in the G20 Summit.

"The UAE is committed to working with the international community to pursue solutions that promise a brighter future for all," Sheikh Mohamed added.

During his address at the summit, Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE believes that "an ambitious, yet balanced, approach" is the best way "to achieve sustainable outcomes".

His Highness highlighted that the UAE is "committed to its responsible role in energy markets, including its priorities in the clean energy sector", investing "$50 billion in Clean Energy across more than 40 countries around the world" and launching the 'Mangrove Alliance for Climate'" in partnership with Indonesia.

The country will also continue to work towards ensuring "more resilient and sustainable food and medical supply chains" and is "committed, through its global trade network, aviation capabilities, and advanced logistics facilities, to support food security initiatives and goals".

Sheikh Mohamed also extended his gratitude and said he looked forward to "welcoming you to the UAE next year during COP 28".
