President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has reaffirmed the UAE’s support for Syria’s stability and a "future marked by security" during a call with the country's leader Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
The two sides explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and also exchanged views on a number of regional developments of mutual interest, national news agency Wam reported.
Al-Sharaa expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s steadfast support and praised the UAE’s constructive role in advancing regional peace and stability in the region.
In April, Al-Sharaa had visited Abu Dhabi and held meetings with Sheikh Mohamed to strengthen cooperation.
Syria’s new transitional government was officially sworn in on March 29, nearly four months after President Bashar al-Assad was ousted.
