The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held talks with his Nigerian counterpart Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the meeting, which took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders explored opportunities for strengthening collaboration in various fields, including economy, development, energy and climate action.
They also discussed the upcoming COP28 climate conference and exchanged views on a number of regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The two sides stressed the importance of encouraging and enabling international cooperation to tackle global issues, including climate change.
Sheikh Mohamed underscored the UAE’s commitment to fostering ties with countries that share the same aspirations for stability, sustainable growth and prosperity for their people.
He further emphasised the importance the UAE attaches to its relationship with Nigeria, and once again congratulated Tinubu on assuming the presidency earlier this year.
The Nigerian leader expressed his pleasure to be visiting the UAE and affirmed his country's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation to support sustainable development and progress in both countries.
