UAE postpones next hearing in trial of 84 on terror charges

WAM

The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court has postponed a hearing into the case involving 84 people, mostly linked to Muslim Brotherhood, until February 7 and 8.

The court will hear the pleading of the public prosecution next month, national news agency WAM reported.

The individuals and entities have been accused of establishing and managing a terrorist organisation, and money laundering.

During the court session on Thursday, the court heard testimonies about money laundering charges linked to five defendants and six companies.

The public session - attended by the defence counsels, families of the defendants, and media representatives - went on for nearly four hours and revolved around the financial dealings of the companies linked to the defendants.
