The UAE and New Zealand have signed an agreement to build a solar plant in the Solomon Islands. Developed by Masdar, it’ll bring renewable energy to the country’s capital, Honiara, and help reduce CO₂ emissions there by more than 1,200 tons. It’s part of the UAE Pacific Partnership Fund, which was established to develop wind and solar projects across 11 Pacific island nations Six of the fund’s projects have already been delivered or are currently under construction, including developments in Tonga, Fiji and Samoa.
