All UAE residency visas will remain valid until the end of December this year.
According to Brigadier Khamis Al Kaabi, of the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship, this will also apply to residents who are currently outside of the country.
This comes after flights were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leaving several people stranded in different countries.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, Al Kaabi explained that Emirates ID cards and visit visas that expired in March will also have their validity extended until the end of the year.
