Authorities in the UAE have announced the extension of distance learning for two weeks for nurseries, public and private schools, and higher education institutions.
The situation will be reviewed weekly, with any updates communicated through official channels.
A mechanism will be put in place for private educational institutions to submit requests to return to in-person learning when needed, in a manner that takes into account their operational circumstances and educational requirements.
During the distance learning period, authorities will also introduce flexible remote work arrangements for federal government employees who are caregivers of children in nurseries/ kindergarten through Grade 8.
The Education, Human Development and Community Development Council said that these measures aim to ensure the continuity of the educational process and to strengthen support systems for students and their families.
