NULL

The UAE has dropped four places in this year’s Gender Gap Report. The annual list is prepared by the World Economic Forum and involves more than 140 countries. The report looks into the world’s efforts to give equal opportunities to women and men, stressing that women are still being paid less than men. On average, a woman gets paid AED 40 for every AED 77 a man earns. This year the Emirates is ranked 119, two places below Kuwait and ahead of the rest of the GCC countries. Iceland, Norway and Finland top the list. The Philippines is up two places at seventh, India’s up six places at 114, and Pakistan maintains its spot as the second to the last nation on the list.
