UAE announces four days of mourning following death of former Qatar Emir

The UAE Presidential Court has announced a four-day period of mourning following the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar and father of the country's current Emir.

Flags will be flown at half-mast at government institutions across the UAE, as well as at the country's embassies and diplomatic missions overseas.

The mourning period begins on Sunday, July 12, and will continue until the end of Wednesday, July 15.

The Presidential Court expressed its condolences to the Al Thani family and prayed for mercy for the deceased.
