A strategic road in Indonesia has been named after His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
It is in recognition of his efforts in strengthening relations between the two countries.
The road stretching 37 km was formerly known as 'Jakarta-Cikampek 2 Elevated Toll Road'.
It is the longest elevated road in Indonesia and the fastest double highway in Southeast Asia.
In October 2020, Sheikh Mohamed ordered the construction of a mosque in Abu Dhabi’s embassy district, named after Indonesian President Joko Widodo, as well as the renaming of 'Al Maarid Street' after Widodo.
