Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque prepares to welcome Ramadan worshippers

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has completed its preparations to welcome worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan, with a huge turnout anticipated bolstered by a strong recovery from COVID-19.

As many as 38 electric cars will be provided to transport worshippers to the prayer halls, with priority given to the elderly and people of determination, and over 50 wheelchairs and water coolers will be available across the site.

A total of 6,579 parking spaces have been reserved for worshippers.  

According to authorities, nearly 1.44 million people prayed at the Sheikh Zayed mosque during 2019 Ramadan.

During the holy month, cannons, known as midfa al iftar, will be placed at Mosque and will be fired at sunset to signal the end of the day's fasting.
