Saudi Hajj stampede: UAE pilgrims safe

Thousands of pilgrims from the UAE remain safe and unharmed following yesterday’s crush at Mina. The stampede claimed the lives of 717 people, and injured more than 800, on the third day of Hajj. According to national news agency WAM, Dr. Mohammed Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and head of the UAE Hajj mission, said that the UAE pilgrims were safe and well. He added that they were located far away from the site of the stampede.
