December 2 and December 3 have been declared as paid holidays for the private sector on account of National Day and Martyrs' Day. This year, the private offices will enjoy a four-day holiday break, including the weekend. For public sector including ministries and federal authorities, holidays begin from Tuesday, December 1. This comes after the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered to mark November 30 as the Martyrs' Day, in recognition of the sacrifices made by the country’s martyrs to restore peace in Yemen.
