Health facilities shut down in Dubai for poor standards

123RF

A number of private health establishments in Dubai have been shut down for not complying with the regulations.

The facilities, which include clinics, medical centres and pharmacies were closed following recent inspections by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

A shortage of emergency medication and failure to keep proper equipment in operation rooms were some of the reasons behind their closure.

The centres will be allowed to reopen only after rectifying the violations.

Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of the Health Regulation Sector at the DHA stressed that while the authority believes in the important role of private facilities in the development of Dubai’s health sector, it is keen to ensure the safety of patients by making sure that all health facilities are complying with its rules and regulations.
