All lab tests conducted on the people recently evacuated from China and brought to the UAE came back negative for COVID-19.
That’s according to officials from the Communicable Diseases Programme at the Abu Dhabi Centre for Public Health, who confirmed that they have completed the 14-day quarantine period.
Earlier, 215 individuals from neighbouring countries of the UAE were evacuated from China using a special aircraft equipped with the necessary medical supplies and air filtration systems.
A total of 1,013 medical tests were conducted at the Emirates Humanitarian City (EHC), where the evacuees were placed upon arriving to the country.
The guests coming from abroad underwent 860 tests, while EHC medical teams and workers underwent 153 tests.
Two fully-serviced preventative health centres, one for males and the other for females, were established as per the quarantine guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the World Health Organisation.
Indoor and outdoor entertainment facilities, medicines, food and all essential items were also provided to the evacuees at all times.
