The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched its winter aid campaign, aiming to support 250,000 people worldwide, especially in countries hosting refugees.
The initiative focuses on alleviating the impact of cold weather, distributing food and health packages, winter clothing, heating devices, blankets, children's supplies and other essential shelter materials.
Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the ERC, highlighted that the programme is designed to ease the suffering of vulnerable groups, particularly in countries experiencing harsh winter conditions.
This also includes refugees both inside and outside camps, who face extreme weather that can severely affect their health, especially children and the elderly.
Al Mansouri added that food, as a vital source of protection against the harsh conditions, will be a primary focus of the campaign in the coming period.
