The Emirates Red Crescent has received a AED 2 million donation in support of its relief and rebuilding programmes in Yemen. According to national news agency WAM, the money was donated to the ERC by the Mohammed bin Rashid Charitable and Humanitarian Establishment during a meeting on the Emirates’ aid assistance to Yemen. The Establishment has sent 30 tonnes of relief assistance to Socotra to help those affected by the tropical cyclone Chapala which struck the island recently. The charity has also delivered over 300 tonnes of food items as part of the ongoing UAE’s aid initiatives to help Yemeni people.
