His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has affirmed the strategic importance of Dubai’s aviation sector in strengthening global connectivity and supporting the international economy.

He said the sector, under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, continues to play a vital role in the efficient movement of passengers and cargo, while helping shape the future of global aviation.

He made the remarks during a visit to Dubai International Airport, where he reviewed operations and praised the performance of teams across the aviation ecosystem.

Accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, he commended the efforts of staff at Dubai Airports, Emirates and flydubai, highlighting their role in maintaining smooth and efficient operations.

During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed passenger services provided by Emirates and toured the Dubai Police operations centre at the airport, where he was briefed on advanced smart systems used to enhance security and ensure safe travel.

He also examined ongoing technology upgrades designed to improve efficiency, streamline passenger flow and enhance overall travel experience.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the resilience of Dubai’s aviation network, saying it continues to operate at world-class standards despite evolving global conditions.

He also highlighted the role of Emirates in connecting Dubai to global markets, noting its network of more than 120 destinations across dozens of countries.

At Emirates’ Network Operations Control Centre, His Highness was briefed on advanced systems powered by artificial intelligence, real-time data and geospatial mapping technology.

The centre allows for proactive monitoring of flights, weather conditions, and global developments, enabling rapid response and ensuring smooth, on-time operations across passenger and cargo services.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) recorded a milestone performance in 2025, welcoming more than 95 million passengers and retaining its position as the world’s busiest international airport for the twelfth consecutive year.
