The United Arab Emirates Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt has successfully fitted prosthetic limbs for 51 Palestinian amputees as part of 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3'.
The landmark achievement comes under the "Step of Hope" programme, which aims to rehabilitate amputees through an integrated system of medical services including medical assessment, manufacturing and fitting of prosthetic limbs and implementation of physical therapy and motor rehabilitation sessions.
There are also continuous medical follow-ups, enabling beneficiaries to adapt to prosthetic limbs, regain their ability to move and return to practicing their daily lives while recovering faster.
The implementation of the “Step of Hope” comes with the support and contribution of a number of Emirati humanitarian institutions and bodies, including the International Charitable Foundation, Sharjah Charity Association, The Big Heart Foundation, and Dar Al Ber Society.
It is part of the 'Operation Chivalrous Knight 3', providing specialised healthcare and treatment programmes to alleviate the effects of the humanitarian crisis on Palestinians suffering in the Gaza Strip.
