Dubai has stepped in with urgent medical aid following the recent earthquake in Myanmar.

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has airlifted nearly 40 metric tonnes of medicines and equipment to support health facilities in the quake-hit areas.

The aid flight, organised in partnership with the World Health Organization, took off from Al Maktoum International Airport and landed in Yangon earlier today.

The shipment, which includes crucial medical supplies valued at AED 571,200, is set to benefit more than 150,000 people.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai Humanitarian, said the mission highlights the UAE’s ongoing commitment to responding quickly during global crises.

Another relief flight, carrying 40 metric tonnes of shelter materials for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, is scheduled for early next week.
