The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has stressed that there are no cases of meningitis in the emirate. That’s after rumours circulated on social media saying the disease caused the sudden death of a four-year-old girl who went to GEMS Wellington Academy in Silicon Oasis. The DHA assured residents that it is well prepared to tackle contagious diseases. On Wednesday, GEMS Education confirmed the death of the pupil in a statement. Meanwhile, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority said it was probing concerns over health and safety raised by parents and students in the school.
