Abu Dhabi slashes government fees for hotels

Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism has reduced government fees applied to hotels in the emirate.

The changes that will take effect from September 1, 2023, are aimed at supporting the growth of the hospitality and tourism sector, and enhancing  investments.

The amendments include:

  • Reducing tourism fee issued to guests from 6 per cent to 4 per cent
  • Removing municipality fee of AED 15 per room per night
  • Removing 6 per cent tourism fee and 4 per cent municipality fee applied to hotel restaurants
  • The municipality fee of 4 per cent of the value of the invoice issued to the customer will continue
