Entries are now open for the World Triathlon Women’s Cup Dubai, which makes its way to Al Mamzar Beach Park on December 6, with races for women of all abilities, from first-time triathletes to elite international athletes.
Organised by Dubai Sports Council in partnership with World Triathlon and in collaboration with the UAE Triathlon Federation, the event celebrates women’s strength, determination and unity.
Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, highlighted that "the World Triathlon Women’s Cup" is about "inspiring more women and girls to take part, giving women athletes the visibility they deserve".
THREE WAYS TO RACE
The Super Sprint is designed to make a first triathlon achievable, with a 400m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run. While women looking for a bigger challenge can step up to the Sprint - with 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.
Open to females aged 18 and over, the races can be tackled individually or as a relay team of up to three.
The Elite race, managed by World Triathlon, is held over the same distance and brings elite performance to Dubai with the winner receiving 500 Olympic Ranking points. The elite field will be announced nearer the event.
Racing will take place in and around Al Mamzar Beach Park and the bay area, with full course details to follow.
EMIRATI CATEGORY
Within the race, a separate competition will recognise the top three Emirati finishers in both the individual and team categories.
ENTRY FEES
Early bird entry runs until November 13, at AED 240 for individuals and AED 480 for relay teams. From November 14, prices will rise to AED 300 and AED 600.
A WEEKEND FOR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS
The event village will be open on December 5 and on race day, making it an inclusive, family-friendly weekend. On race day, spectators can cheer from the grandstands, with music, wellness activities, and food and drink in the village. The village will also host WTWC Talks, with panel sessions on nutrition, movement and mental wellbeing, and on balancing work and life.
