Three former police officers who were on the scene during George Floyd's death have been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao have also been taken into custody.
Prosecutors on Wednesday also charged former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, who is already in custody, with second-degree murder.
It comes as tens of thousands of people across the US joined forces to demand justice for Floyd.
Demonstrations on Wednesday were mostly peaceful, with the crowds near the White House lighting up their cellphone flashlights and singing Lean on Me before chanting anti-police slogans.
Several major cities also scaled back or lifted curfews.
