The country’s interior ministry says 21 bodies had been recovered by Saturday evening.
The boat went down off Kébémer, around 180 kilometres north of the capital Dakar.
Search and rescue operations are continuing, with authorities looking for possible additional survivors.
Officials have not said how many people were on board.
