Russell Brand has got engaged. The 41-year-old comedian - who was previously married to singer Katy Perry - recently popped the question to long-term girlfriend Laura Gallacher, who is currently pregnant with the couple's first baby. The couple announced their happy news to friends and family with a low-key party over the weekend. A source told The Sun newspaper: "Russell didn't want a big fuss this time after his very public relationship with Katy. Laura is also keen to keep their romance low-key, so the small, intimate party was very much in keeping with their 'homebods' image. "As they are becoming parents, Russell wanted to do the right thing and make Laura his wife. She's delighted he asked." Guests at the party - which was held at their riverside property in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, south west England - included Laura's TV presenter sister Kirsty and actress Susie Amy. Russell and Laura, 27, previously dated in 2007 and 2009 and rekindled their romance last year on a romantic trip to Rome, Italy, before moving in together at the start of the year. It was recently revealed Russell had taken up baby yoga to bond with his unborn child. The 'Get Him to the Greek' star is hoping that practicing the Buddhist meditation will help him to form a connection with the baby. A friend of Russell's said of his new regime: "Russell wants to get close with the baby and has started these daily yoga routines. "He takes it really seriously and honestly believes it will help to form a relationship with the child." The pal also disclosed that the Russell is keen to deliver the baby himself. They added: "As a couple they are very close and Russell has even told pals he'd like to deliver the baby."
