Alfonso Cuarón took home the Oscar for best director for Roma, a film he also wrote and directed. The black and white Netflix film also won Best Foreign Film as well as Best Cinematography.

Rami Malek took home the Oscar for best actor for his role as Freddie Mercury, while Olivia Colman won best actress Oscar for the Favourite.

Bohemian Rhapsody also won sound and editing awards.

Regina King was awarded the Best Supporting Actress for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk, while Spike Lee's BlackKklansman won the Best Adapted Screenplay.
Black Panther won for Best Original Score, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design, while Shallow from A Star Is Born won Best Original Song, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performing it live.
The Guneet Monga-produced Period. End Of Sentence won Best Documentary Short.
