South African President Jacob Zuma is set to make his first official visit to Germany this week. He’ll be meeting with German chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday in Berlin. South Africa is Germany's largest trading partner in Africa and Germany is South Africa’s second largest trading partner globally after China. Chancellor Merkel and President Zuma have met on several unofficial occasions but this is their first official meeting since the South African President took office in 2009.
