Passengers warned not to use Galaxy Note 7 on planes

Officials in the US are warning air passengers not to turn on or charge Galaxy Note 7 phones during flights. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also advising travellers not to carry the devices in their checked baggage. It comes a week after Samsung suspended sales of the smartphone after reports of a battery malfunction causing some to catch fire during charging. Over 25,000 units were also withdrawn from sale in the UAE market. Nobody appears to have been injured so far by an exploding device, but at least two property-destroying fires in the US have recently been blamed on the phone.
