Emirates resumes daily service between Adelaide and Dubai

WAM

Emirates has officially resumed its daily service between Adelaide and Dubai, enhancing connectivity between South Australia and the world.

The airline will operate a Boeing 777-200LR, offering over 4,200 seats each week and accommodating more than 220,000 passengers annually.

The reinstatement of this route marks a significant boost for the local economy, with the South Australian Tourism Commission estimating it will generate over $62 million in tourism revenue and create more than 315 full-time jobs.

Each Emirates flight will also carry 14 tonnes of cargo, facilitating trade in key exports such as seafood, meat products, and pharmaceuticals, valued at approximately $98 million per year.

This cargo capacity will strengthen trade links between South Australia and major markets across the Middle East, Europe, and the USA.

South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas emphasised the importance of the Emirates service, stating, “We’re not just welcoming back a world-class airline; we’re re-opening South Australia’s doors to the world.”

He highlighted the expected economic impact, including job creation and new opportunities for trade and tourism.

Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Nabil Sultan, noted that Australia remains a priority market for the airline, reaffirming its commitment to expanding its network in the region.

With the addition of Adelaide, Emirates now operates 70 weekly flights across five Australian cities, connecting passengers to over 140 global destinations.

Emirates plans to further strengthen its presence in Australia with the reinstatement of its second daily service to Perth on December 1, returning to pre-pandemic capacity with a total of 77 weekly flights from Australia.
