ADNOC unlocks over AED 60 billion in UAE manufacturing opportunities

WAM

ADNOC announced on Sunday more than AED 60 billion in local manufacturing opportunities through to 2030, alongside changes to its procurement and supplier systems.

The opportunities cover more than 200 products and a range of spare parts, including equipment used in drilling, power, automation, chemicals and heavy industry. Many are currently imported.

Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Managing Director and Group CEO, said the next phase would give manufacturers and investors greater clarity over what ADNOC needs and when, while making it easier to compete for its business.

ADNOC says producing more of the equipment locally could shorten delivery times, reduce exposure to global supply disruptions and strengthen domestic supply chains.

The company is also targeting an 80 per cent reduction in the time needed for suppliers to register and qualify. The number of required documents will be halved, while prequalification requirements will be removed for 60 per cent of service categories.

Omar Alnuaimi, ADNOC Group Chief Commercial and In-Country Value Officer, said the changes were designed to give suppliers earlier visibility of demand and expand access to opportunities.

Artificial intelligence will also be used to verify documents and reuse existing supplier data.

ADNOC says its In-Country Value programme had redirected more than AED 307 billion into the UAE economy by the end of 2025.
