Nick Jonas was injured on the set of some kind of production Saturday night. We don’t know anything about the injury, but we do know it was serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital. He wasn’t admitted, and he's back home now. Whatever this project is, for some reason they’re keeping it super quiet, as we don’t know any details.
After taking a year off, the MTV Movie and TV awards came back last night. “WandaVision” won several golden popcorn awards, with Elisabeth Olsen taking Best Performance in a Show, and Kathryn Hahn winning Best Villain. “WandaVision” also won Best Fight, and the big one, Best Show. Marvel continued the winning streak with “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” star Anthony Mackie winning Best Hero, and Best Duo with Sebastian Stan. In movies, Best movie went to “To All the Boys, Always and Forever.” Chadwick Boseman won a posthumous award for his performance in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
New couple alert! Rita Ora and director Taika Waititi were spotted together for the first time walking around Sydney, Australia. There had been some rumors they were dating for the past few weeks, but now it seems confirmed, as the two looked quite close as they walked near Taika’s Bondi Beach home. Rita is 30, he’s 45.
TV actor Ricky Schroeder, who was famous in the 80s and 90s for being kind of a heartthrob, is trying to become famous as a doorknob, after posting his exchange with a store employee over face masks. Schroeder is mad because he’s not allowed to go into a Costco without a mask on. The retailer has a mask policy in effect, and even former child stars must comply.
The Miss Universe Pageant Took a year off for COVID-19, but it’s back and crowned a new winter. Andrea Meza, a software engineer from Mexico is the new title holder. Miss Brazil was runner-up, 3rd place was Miss Peru, and Miss India, Aldine Castelino, finished in 4th place of 74 contestants.
