The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation suit continues. Johnny has finished his testimony, now his attorney has moved on to supporting witnesses and experts. But here’s a clip from Depp‘s last day on Dande, talking about how it hurt when Disney dropped him as Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.  He says he felt the character deserved a “proper goodbye.”
 


 

Robert Pattinson has signed on to return as Batman in the sequel to this year‘s huge hit. Warner Bros. revealed its plans for another Batman story during its Tuesday evening presentation at CinemaCon, the annual trade show for theater owners. “The Batman” director Matt Reeves was on hand to announce the news that he will write and direct the follow-up, but he did not provide any details about what the movie will entail.  The Batman made US$759 million globali this year making it the biggest movie of 2022 so far, so it is no surprise that there will be a sequel.  
 


 

Justin Lin has stepped down as director of the next “Fast and the Furious” film just days into production. Justin has directed five of the films and had returned for the 10th, but just bailed out despite cowriting the new movie. Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases," Lin's statement read. "On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family."  Lin will stay on as a producer.  "Fast X" is slated for release on May 19, 2023.
