UAE worried by Iraq's anti-Bahrain rhetoric

The UAE says its greatly concerned by the Iraqi government's recent statements against Bahrain and its leadership.

In a statement published in the national news agency WAM, the emirate's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation called for cooperation and respect between Middle Eastern countries.

They said "any failure in containing the abuse in relations between sisterly countries will lead to heightening tension" in the region.

The Ministry also urged Iraq to respect the national sovereignty of other countries and said the interference in the internal affairs of Bahrain is "objectionable meddling" that can never be accepted.
