Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, took to social media on Sunday to commend the UAE leaders for handling the regional crisis with "wisdom and steadfastness", as "we approach the signing of the long-awaited agreement between Washington and Tehran".
He expressed hope that the peace agreement "will turn the page on war and open a political path that proves successful".
The UAE, he added has "never been advocates of war, and we will always remain advocates of peace and stability". This, "while holding firmly to the defence of the homeland and the preservation of its sovereignty and interests," Gargash wrote.
