The UAE is exploring partnerships with international organisations working on the technology of simulating rainfall. A delegation from the country’s Programme for Rain Enhancement has been sharing ideas and best practices with leading research agencies in Thailand and Japan. The talks are expected to aid the UAE’s ambitious research initiative which was announced earlier this year to help arid and semi-arid regions overcome water scarcity. A $5 million (AED 18.3 million) grant is also on offer for up to five projects focusing on rainfall simulation.
