The UAE has sent 2,500 tonnes of humanitarian aid to support those affected by the recent earthquake in Afghanistan.
An aid ship has departed for Pakistan’s Gwadar Port, from where the supplies will be transported overland to the quake-hit areas.
The shipment includes food, medical supplies and shelter materials, and comes under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Joint Operations Command says the effort was coordinated with the UAE Aid Agency and several humanitarian organisations, as part of the UAE’s broader relief mission to Afghanistan.
