The UAE has expressed solidarity with Pakistan over a terror attack that targeted a military base and left at least 23 soldiers dead.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) reaffirmed that the UAE strongly condemns "these criminal acts, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability, in contravention of human values and principles".
The ministry also extended sincere condolences to the victims of the attack.
The gun and bomb attack, which a terror group claimed responsibility for, comes as political watchers have already voiced concerns about the holding of polls, scheduled for February 8, 2024, amid a surge in terror attacks in the northwest and southwest regions of the 241 million nation.
