The UAE has sent 10 state-of-the-art ambulances to quake-hit Syria under the Operation Gallant Knight 2.
Approved by the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), it will speed up medical aid for those unable to travel to the hospitals.
The ambulances are equipped to go off-road and access remote, rugged terrain.
Dr. Salem Al Falasi, who is in charge of following up on the needs of the health sector in Syria, said this initiative is in line with the UAE's continous humanitarian support for the Syrian people.
