Residents in the UAE are being urged to only seek information from reliable sources.

That's the word from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment's (MoCCaE) after a video of sick animals went viral on social media.

The video, which shows a herd of goats and cattle suffering from a disease, started spreading as fears over COVID-19 escalated.

Ministry officials also reminded the public to avoid spreading rumours or forwarding unreliable information.

#MoCCaE stresses that content, videos, and images communicated via social media platforms may not always represent reliable sources of information unless they come from the official accounts of the authorities concerned with the subject. Therefore, the Ministry urges all members of the public to seek information from reliable and official sources and beware of rumors and misleading news.
