An ongoing recovery report has revealed that more and more residents support the UAE's efforts to return to normal life.

That's according to Nasser Al Zaabi, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Community Development, who spoke during the latest government media briefing on Tuesday.

Al Zaabi said 95 per cent of people expressed a higher sense of trust and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, compared to 25% in April 2020.

Statistics have also shown that 94 per cent of residents were optimistic about going back to normal life, compared to 34 per cent from April last year.

Meanwhile, 79 per cent supported a 100 per cent return to the workplace, 90 per cent supported the gradual resumption of religious practices in mosques and other places of worship and 73 per cent supported students' return to schools.

Al Zaabi added that the UAE is one of the first countries to recover from the pandemic by providing the necessary elements needed to return to normal life, with vaccination drives being the most important.
