President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as the ruler of Abu Dhabi, has ordered the disbursement of AED 1.5 billion of housing benefits to citizens of the Emirate.
It is the second housing package to be announced this year and coincides with the Eid Al Adha holiday celebrations.
The payout will include grants for houses and housing loans and will also give loan exemptions for retirees and to the families of a deceased mortgage holder.
The latest announcement follows a package of measures brought in to help low-income Emirati families earlier this month, doubling the social support budget and including allowances to help pay for food, fuel, electricity, water, and housing.
