President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has discussed the importance of the Black Sea Grain deal and reviewed ongoing efforts aimed at securing its extension during a call with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
They agreed to maintain regular communication in order to continue exploring ways to cooperate on the grain deal, and other matters of mutual concern.
The Black Sea grain deal with Russia and Ukraine was brokered by the UN and Turkey in July 2022 to help alleviate a global food crisis by facilitating Russian food and fertilizer exports and ensuring the continued Black Sea shipments of Ukrainian grain.
Guterres, on his part, expressed appreciation for the UAE’s active contribution to progress in key regional and global areas.
