UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has declared 2026 as the Year of the Family, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to strong, united households as the foundation of a resilient society.
The announcement was made during a session on the National Family Growth Agenda 2031, held at the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi.
The initiative aims to promote family cohesion, unity and the values of empathy and cooperation across the country.
A national task force of over 20 government entities has been formed to implement the agenda, focusing on three key areas: policy development, behavioural insights, and reproductive health.
The goal is to create a supportive environment for families and ensure these values are passed on to future generations.
The Year of the Family will spotlight the vital role families play in shaping the UAE’s future and strengthening its social fabric.
