The UAE-Pakistan Assistance Programme provided a total of 86.6 million vaccine doses to immunise Pakistani children against polio during the last year. The UAE’s campaign reached out to multiple regions and provided the vaccinations in the first and second phases to around 21 million children under the age of five. The move comes within the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to eradicate polio worldwide. Pakistan has expressed its gratitude to the UAE leadership for the aid provided.
