UAE, INTERPOL highlight international coordination to combat crime

The UAE and INTERPOL have discussed ways to strengthen international cooperation in combating transnational crime and addressing emerging security challenges.

The discussions took place between His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and INTERPOL President Lucas Philippe, on the sidelines of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.

The two sides explored mechanisms for closer cooperation between law enforcement agencies and international police and security organisations, particularly through the exchange of expertise, information and operational experience.

They also highlighted the importance of stronger international coordination to protect societies against crime and support more effective cooperation in the pursuit of justice.
