The UAE has expressed its solidarity with Algeria following the fire at an orphanage that killed 11 people and injured 19 in east of its capital Algiers.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed its sincere condolences to the victims' families and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.
Ten of the injured suffered burns of varying severity, and emergency crews evacuated five people with disabilities from the orphanage to safety, the civil protection agency said.
No details were given on the cause of the fire, which occurred early on Thursday.
