UAE dispatches aid planes to Zambia and Guinea

WAM

Following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has dispatched two aircraft carrying essential relief aid to Zambia and Guinea.

The first aircraft, carrying 50 tonnes of food aid, was sent to Zambia in response to the severe drought that has devastated local communities.

The drought has significantly impacted food security, making it difficult to provide essential crops for the population.

The second aircraft, loaded with 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid, was sent to Guinea-Conakry to assist those affected by recent floods that have caused widespread destruction and disrupted daily life.

The latest aid efforts are vital as Zambia has declared the ongoing drought a national disaster, threatening food security for hundreds of thousands of families.

In Guinea, the recent floods have caused significant damage to infrastructure, and the UAE’s swift response is crucial to support the affected communities as they begin recovery.
